I would love to see the litres increasing faster than the pounds again, do you think we'll ever see those days again?
Very funny, not a hope in hell of fossil fuel petrol ever being less than a pound a litre in the UK again. On a different note, I had my only proper job in the early eighties (you know, where an employer puts money into your bank account each week) - a work colleague was so skint he put 50p of petrol into his Dolomite 1850 - and could predict within a few hundred yards when he would run out.
Fuel light was on permanently.

That was about the same with me - I do remember when the prices hit £1.00 a gallon and the pumps wouldn't cope with the extra digit...........Had to look it up though.

I vaugely remeber it being high 30p's a ltr, early 90's. I worked in a petrol station and I'm thinking 38p/ltr for diesel.
I vividly remember a bloke coming in an putting 100 ltrs in his 7 series and it coming to just under £50, and speculating what would cause the problem first - the pump cut out at 100ltrs or the car only being guaranteed for £50.
How times have changed.
