£80k. You could buy a 'proper' single seater track day toy for that money!
You could probably buy a F3 car or similar and a trailer and a cheap car to tow the thing! lol

in fact here are some of the things you can buy for £80K

If you've got the sort of money to that allows you to blow £80K on a single-seater track toy, on the back seat of the Range Rover Sport you're towing it with.

Looks interesting.
Much nicer than the KTM x-bow.
And probably better aerodynamic than the Ariel Atom, I assume.

Cool.

No windscreen. Dont want then.
Good decision. There is virtually no market for vehicles without such a device.

Defeats the point of making it road legal then.

yes Exactly.

After seeing the pictures someone posted up via a facebook link, i'm seeing the point of it now, i think it's more for the uber rich, who may already have a atom to do a lap with a mate, but buy this alos, just to try it, own, and drive it aswell.

Most likey they will make a more powerfull version, further down the line, that will mean it is faster than a atom, caterham, ktm etc.

Do many public track days allow single seaters? I thought that was the rule they used to stop people turning up in open wheelers etc?

Not necessarily...

You can drive road legal track cars on the road without a helmet; there's nothing in the rules to say you are only allowed to drive them on the road when you're on your way to a circuit.

I own two windscreenless track refugees and these days 95% of my mileage in them is weekend blasts on the local country roads, just wearing wrap-around sunglasses or goggles.

I like the look of this and I would rather be in a single seater anyway.

If you were going without a mate in a tender car (which I frequently do, even when I'm driving the track car to the circuit, to carry tools, spare tyres, oil, jerry cans of gas, food, drink, etc.), then I guess you'd just be forced to put it on your head wouldn't you?

Generations of motorcyclists seem to have coped admirably, without suffering permanent emotional trauma.

As an Architect who dabbles in CGI a bit, I particularly like the imaginary old duffer in the red tank top and the imaginary fat bd slumped in the comfy chair behind... neat touches for extra realism.

you are correct, the aero has been developed and optimized over 2 years with Stuttgart Uni. Lightweight sportscars always struggle at speeds over 100mph as the weight of the vehicle is less of an influence and it really just comes down to power and drag. The single seat nature of mono means its narrow tub allows air to flow through the vehicle and achieve a top speed not normally associated with a lightweight sportscar. Of course its not about top speed but the good aero means it continues to accelerate well between 100 and 150.

quite, i drive an Exige s and even that at 900 kg is no fun with a passenger, takes the edge of the acceleration, longer braking and very sluggish to change direction through a chicane.

I should go carefully if I were you....

"Actress Jan Smithers, a star of beloved TV sitcom WKRP In Cincinnati, was driving naked when she stopped for help after her car broke down on a remote California highway in the middle of the night.

"She was hit by a truck after the driver caught sight of the 58-year-old waving him down too late. She has been recovering from her injuries ever since the September accident, but family members fear her health issues might be more than a few broken bones."
