Volvo is latin for "I roll."

Because it's good.

If it had been called the Skoda Craptrap. That would be more ironic.

Frontera Diesel Sport.

About as sporty as Stephen Hawkins.
There's a guy in my street who completely misses the irony of his Frontera 'sport'.

Have you been in a Supercharged one?

rolleyes

Shifting 2.5+ tonnes to 60 in under 7.5 seconds and on to a limited 155mph. Mine's definitely a 'Sport'

Which would point to an economic, comfortable, practical and reliable car. Sounds like a superb idea!

I think it's tacky and anything but. You think it's superb. Each to their own.

He's a leftfield one for those that know their car history

You are confusing Sporting with fast, lovely car, dont get me wrong but I think the Sport badge seems kind of misplaced, I suppose it is sporty compared to a FFRR, so perhaps in that context it is acceptable, as in slightly more sporty than something not sporty at all, just always seemed like a lazy name.

PS, they arent limited to 155, they top out at 140.

Does that define "sport though"? It seems to be a loose term banded around these days. Audi A3 1.6Tdi "sport", what exactly is sporty about that? Slow?-Check, handles poorly?-Check, poor ride?-Check. Sporty?-negative.

Defining speed as "sport" is not correct.
