Minor moral dilemma
Discussion
So I was On the way to B & Q, following an old boy in his Mondeo. Anyway, in the 1/2 mile I followed him he managed to jump a red light at a T junction (such that had a car been incoming it would have T-boned him on the driver's side), randomly brake and fail to maintain a consistent speed, and finally use the wring lane on a roundabout. At which point our respective journeys parted way. Should I report him, and if so who to? I appreciate everyone sometimes forgets to turn on 'God-mode' when they jump in the car, and to him his driving might be an important bit of freedom. However, from what I saw his driving also was careless and had more potential to cause an accident than your average numpty. So, learned PHers, what would you do?

You want to report this? Clearly, you don't live in Suffolk, that's the average driver around here - the only thing you missed off was doing 42mph in the NSL then continuing the same speed in the 30....What is it with all these busybodies nowadays that want to report drivers whenever they see a highway code infringement? I would certainly report someone (at the time though, not after getting home and posting on the internet about it) if I thought they were drink-driving or purposely trying to cause accidents etc, other than that surely everyone is allowed an 'off day' at the wheel? Besides which, it will accomplish two fifths of fk all.

Report him, just imagine if it was a member of your family he smashed into when he ran the red light.
As for the people making jokes about noclip and godmode, the only true way to solve issues with old people driving is the same way that Logan's Run did it.

You're right, running a red light is no big deal. Maybe i should have done the same and given him a big thumbs-up, signalling my approval of his st driving Simbu said:

The real crime is him using the wring lane, which is only intended for buses, cyclists and wet cloths.

Ah the old typo pedantry. A productive addition to the thread. And i asked because i wasn't sure if someone's ability to drive is a police or DVLA matter. Seems quite a sensible question really, the prospect of which seems just beyond your grasp. My favourite part of your post was 'should I report him and if so, to who?' - RNLI maybe? PDSA? Sea Scouts?
If you've nothing useful or perhaps humourous (in a good-natured manner) to add, kindly stop contributing.
