Quick one really. Free company car (except the tax).

Mondeo 1.6D Edge

Or

Focus 1.6D Titanium

Neither is fast or interesting but it's a free mile-muncher. Which would you pick?

Focus.

Edge is base spec, Titanium is top so unless you need the space that would swing it for me.

Focus if its the new just released model, it will be quicker, more economical and much better equipped.

I quite like the facelifted Mondeo; quite an enhancement looks-wise.

I guess you don't spend much time looking at the car though, so choose the one you feel most comfortable sitting behind the wheel of.

Unless you really need the extra space of the Mondeo I would go for the focus imo as it's top of the range instead of poverty spec

New Focus?

If so, go drive one.

I had a go in one today and wasn't impressed.

I'd buck the trend and have the Mondeo.

It's hardly basic spec and it'll be nicer on the motorways.

Both great.
Mondeo looks spec from the focus.
Overall after driving them both Mondeo.

I'm likely to pick up a 'second user' one as there are a load of cars available at work so a '58/'09/'59 plate. Probably not a brand spanker.

When did they change? And what's the difference? I've never really paid much attention to this type of car

I've got a Mondeo estate Edge model (59 plate). Being just a company car, used for work and shopping runs etc, I neither care about body coloured door handles, fog lights or alloys wheels.
The spec in the Mondeo edge gives me everything I want for everyday use, including aircon, bluetooth phone connection, aux connector for my ipod, 6 gears, cruise control, voice controlled stereo, and it's a big huge comfortable car which is lovely on long motorway journeys and equally at home flying around bends.
To say I love my basic spec Mondeo is an understatement, best company car I've had by a mile, and that's over the previous Focus and Astra I had before, but of course just my own personal opinion smile

Ah cheers.

I'll certainly ask about a new one but with so many hanging around there's next to no chance.

Mondaeo if it's the estate or hatchback but not saloon.
Handling great loads of space really loads.

Agreed.

Mondeo Edge should still have a reasonable level of equipment, IIRC they all have Cruise and a Leather steering wheel. A/C and CD player standard. No alloys though.
