Thats a very nicely done cossied mk2 judgeing by the spec, if hes selling it at 30k its cost easy twice that to build. 10.1 seconds quarter is seriously fast, Iv only seen a few road going cars go faster, 800 bhp evos, that kind of thing.

I think not. Its clearly been built for the track and we all know how good Mk2's handle.

True, but in fairness to foz01, the 'ring is a pretty special case compared with most other tracks, in that it has a large number of very high speed sections. The order of quickest lap times at the ring is very different to most other tracks at any country I can think of. A CSL may be similar to a Caterham R500 around the 'ring, but around Croft, Brands or Oulton (UK), Dijon (France), Mid Ohio or Atlanta (US), Zandvoort (Belgium) etc, the Caterham would absolutely trounce the CSL, as would an R400, or most Westfields, and there is indeed probably a list of 20 faster cars, especially if we don't look at manufacturer's output and just scan the classifieds. Some of the UK lap times in magazine tests could be beaten by some fairly humble club racing machinery that, like the Escort in the OP, remains road legal.

0-100 in 5 seconds!!! All for £30k. Is there anything that can accelerate quicker for less money?
Blimey, what a car. I'd love to see it in action at a track day.

£15k for 9sec quarter miles and road legal, only fast in a straight line though.
