Thats a joke right, I mean why would the next owner want to know that you might have written the car off, or that the repairs might not have been that good rolleyes

Also I was always under the impression dealers were under obligation to mention any damage to a car that has been recorded by the insurers, so when/if the next owner finds out, I am sure he'll be well chuffed you kept that to yourself.
The car was not written off and therefore the damage will not be recorded.

Do you honestly think any car that has a little bump is then sold with that clear to see for everyone? I doubt the motor trade would ever sell a single car, even brand new ones.

The dealer asked "Has the car ever been in an accident which resulted in a total loss claim" - I answered NO, which is CORRECT.
Really nothing wrong with that, the dealer would have forgotten you said it was in an accident anyway. When I worked in a car supermarket almost half of the cars we sold had been to a bodyshop at some point, a few panels and a bit of paint isn't worth worrying about.

Since car supermarkets tend to sell ex-hire stuff I believe you - I remember reading a breakdown of the 6 month life of a hire car from one of the big companies - on average 2 of those months are bodyshop time hehe
