What car for my mate.

The spec's fairly simple.
He currently has an '05 plate Audi A4 3.0 TD Quattro and fancies updating but feels tied into Audi for these reasons.
He wants his new car to be........
4WD, (but not a proper 4x4!)
Diesel,
Around 3.0 litre,
Quite practical, (Estate is probably the order of the day)
Not an Audi. (He quite fancies an XC70 but is looking to broaden his horizons.)
