When I was looking the other night I was looking at VXR's for comparisons over the CV8 however.

While the CV8 looks more like it but I think it is just large coupes look similar, the C70 looks a bit like the Merc CL of the same vintage which in the rear 3/4 view has a resemblance to the monaro etc etc.

Thats not to say that the C70 isnt a good looking car, its a bit more boxy than the monaro and definitely not as mean as the VXR's...but then I am biased wink

hehe

I'm biased the other way... down this side of the world its still just a fast but boring taxi. (though at least the one with a couple of doors missing is slightly more interesting)

If only they were taxi's here, might make it more interesting on the drive back!

Nah, most of the Commodores on the road are basic spec slushomatic V6's - there really isn't anything interesting about them.

The gearboxes require a gym membership. Fail.

They look OTT, and are designed to appeal to the tribal bogans following the Ford versus Holden V8 Stupidcar series here.

It was such a disgrace that the diversity of group A racing was banned in favour of this two car series. The result has been a focus on a prehistoric vehicle, whose death cant come soon enough.

Considering how poorly equipped these are, I'm stuffed if I can understand how they weigh 1800 kg. Another thing - they have a blind spot at the a pillar you could hide an aircraft carrier in.

These might work in Australia where petrol is cheap and roads are wide, but in the UK?

Something like selling ice to an eskimo.

Looks a dog's dinner.

I'm afraid at those prices, I'd be hiving down and buying a 550bhp full-fat Cadillac CTS-V which has more power and handles just as well.

I've owned a Monaro for 3 years now....fantastic car. I've never been able to make my mind up whether i like the OLD VXR8 or not........certainly don't like the new one i'm afraid. Give me the old Coupe any day! wink

Pity they dont offer the Senator spec look with the full power GTS engine. It would probably make a more sense considering that the most popular V8 sports saloons like the AMGs, BMW M5s and Audi RS models as well as the Jags are all fairly conservative looking machines. There must be a few people out there who'd love one of these but just can't stomach the retina searing ugliness that is the E2 series HSV GTS.

You can order a Senator/maloo/Clubsport Wagon from one of the 5 dealers who are selling the new E3, you just have to choose your extras smile
