Seriously though, how many people don't think to check or are *ahem* not as clued up as you *ahem* and spot that it is as scam?

Its the sort of thing you hear of pensioner getting shafted by.
Cheeky tt, but you have to laugh though. I posted the ad for some advice and feedback whistle

Deffo a scam.

I had about a dozen when I sold my last car.

We may all laugh, but sadly people must be still getting shafted for this kind of scam, even if the scammers only get a 1% hit rate, it costs them nothing and seems to have little scope for them being caught.

Every time I see one of these type e-mails, I think to myself "why bother, surely no one goes through with them?".

And then I read a thread like this and begin to think perhaps some people actually do!
Are you calling me thick or something ?

I'm still rubbing my chin at the mo.

I'm not going to give out any bank details or any thing silly. So far he only wants to load my paypal account.

What are your thoughts, should I reply to the email or not ?
When I saw this post from you, it suggested to me that you had not dismissed the email outright - which you should have done immediately.

I think 'Pork' has a point....

Sorry.. getmecoat

Thanks for the reply,i am interested in the purchase of the vehicle and am buying it for my uncle, whom i promised a vehicle but i want it to be a surprise package so i wont let him know about it until it has been delivered to him,i would have come to your location for the viewing but presently i am posted to Japan as a rescue aid team with the English red cross,I would be responsible for the delivery of the vehicle to him
So an emergency aid worked has enough time on his hands to arrange the purchase of a car from a country that's recovering from an Earthquake and Tsunami..?

Qube said:
,i do have a pick up agent that will pickup the vehicle and deliver it to him
Again, all arranged from what is probably something resembling a war zone right now...

I am offering you the asking price
Immediate alarm bells..

Do get back to me with your PayPal email so i can make the payment.
A complaint to Paypal could result in reversal of funds...

What do you think, as anyone else come across his name or email ?

What are your thoughts ?
I think you were wise to consult this forum, and were lucky to avoid a heavy loss.

Ok, may be your right. My first impression was dismay, and I was rubbing my chin. This is why I seeked advice. I was ridiculed for posting the topic.

Nice car though!

Send me your Paypal and...... biggrin

ETA: Somebody tried something similar with me once.... I replied, and then to add insult to injury, I kindly signed up to several porn sites and other undesirable sites with their email address.

And for good measure, I embedded said address into my website homepage (invisible) so that it would be indexed by Google and become a massive target for spam.

Is this what they call Karma? biggrin
