I recently had the Morgan vandalised by scumbags - keys and dents. So it has gone back to Morgan for a full fix and respray.

This was clearly an insurance claim. Now, I have been with A-Plan and Markerstudy for years, and despite not being the cheapest by quite some way, I liked dealing with a broker who always pick up the phone and seem to know what they are doing (and appear to be staffed by car enthusiasts). I had never dealt with the underwriting insurance company, Markerstudy, before.

Well I hope someone from those organisations read these forums - because your service has been amazing. Everything from picking up the phone, or replying promptly for e-mails, to sending your estimates engineer out, to getting the car into the garage and repaired.

Both companies' files are completely up to date, they can tell me exactly what is going on and, what is going to happen next, and how long it will take. Dealings have been friendly and courteous.

I will of course write to both when the car is back. But I think that this has proved something - with insurance, like many things, you get what you pay for. I will be staying with these people for a while - as long as they don't completely take the pi55 at renewal...smile

Sorry to hear about the car Harry, it looked lovely at the meet at Lepsons the other month.

I'm just going through a claim with A-Plan/Markerstudy (my fault) so hope it goes as smoothly as yours did!

I'd agree with what Harry has said.

I was through A-Plan and Markerstudy when my 911 was driven into by a lorry in Holland. I figured a nightmare claim with it being abroad and a lack of enthusiasm on their part to chase the 3rd party once I'd coughed up the excess.

How wrong was I - I got my excess back, repairs at my own garage, text message updates, friendly people on the phone and honesty in all dealings.

Good luck chap.

That wasn't me, by the way! You mean someone else dares to own a baby blue Morgan? The swine.

I was with Markerstudy through A-Plan when I had my incident in the old Lotus. From the word go they were both excellent. The car was heavily modified yet it didn't seem to affect the premium at all. I've used A-Plan for years.

Nope - that's another PHers'. Seen it at trackdays - beautiful. There are a few Morgan owners on PH, lurking...

Glad you like them though. The lovely weather outside is making me want mine back right now.

To balance this out, I crashed my car (totally my own fault and no one else involved) and A-Plan were great but I vowed I will never touch Markerstudy again even with a very long stty stick. Took from early December when my car was deemed un-economical to repair (3 days after the accident) until April for me to get the pay out which still wasn't actually what the car was worth.

More than a few Morgan owners on PH Harry, especially Aero-owners. Most of us are regulars here though: www.talkmorgan.com

Sorry to hear about your car, hope you get it back soon. Unusual for a Mog to be given envy stripes. frown

Sorry you've had a poor experience - I suggest you modify your post if you want it to stay though, PH has a very strict no naming/shaming policy.

To update my experience, I heard nothing until September when I got a solicitor's letter about car hire charges which I passed onto my insurer. Heard nothing until I called them last month whereupon they said it had been settled.

So, it took 6 months or so for an open/shut case which seems about right. Only complaint is that I wasn't kept updated.

PS - had to laugh at you telling other posters how to behave on your second post wink (apologies if this is banter hehe )
