Personally its not the Ferrari for me, perhaps i'm old fashioned even though i'm still young (under 30!!), but to me Ferrari's should all have a clear racing pedigree within them, they should be sports cars for the road but cars that have a clear racing lineage none the less.

If you are an Oligarch that wishes to take a flash car with you to Verbier then this will fit the bill perfectly but for anyone else a Range Rover would suffice shortly?!

I miss the Ferrari of old and for me some of the mystic of the brand has been lost what with the launch of Ferrari World in Dubai, the California and now this. I appreciate Ferrari are only a business giving the market what they apparently want, but its this type of "market" that seem to be dictating the future direction of the brand that worries me. I just wish they could have kept something back, I mean why should a Ferrari even try to be all things to all men/woman (4 seats, 4 wheel drive, room for golf clubs etc)?!

Regards,

The old fashioned traditionalist.
Could not have said it better myself, 100% agree.

All in the name of weight distribution - 53% over the rear wheels.

The front-mounted gearbox is very small:

And would look like this if you had X-Ray vision:

Although if you did have X-Ray vision, you probably wouldn't be looking at Ferrari drivetrains...

That's a big market segment though isn't it?
Based on the sales of the 612, no it isn't. Will have to wait and see how many they sell of these but personally not a fan of the styling at all.

Any chance of Jag reinventing the Lynx Eventer, if the FF and Panamera prove to be successful??

That wasn't an official Ferrari car though was it I seem to recall.

I would want to see if the light went off in my fridge when I closed the door.

Is it huge on the outside then? In pictures it looks similar to the norm ie 430/458 size but I can't see how that could fit so much stuff, even given the front engine.
It's a big car, absolutely, but the design manages to hide the proportions very well.

Bear in mind that I was seeing the car in isolation, indoors, under lighting. Chris-R is better placed to give the definitive answer having driven it on the road.
I saw a bunch of them at Maranello a few weeks ago, absolutely loved it. It's big, but not massive, it sounds brilliant and it's one of the best bits of automotive packaging in years. Loved it. Not as much as the sheikh who's bought 80 of them though...

One bloke bought 80, the factory is turning them out as fast as they can...
