RE: Jag XF Gets Facelift (And Four-Cylinder Diesel)
Discussion
I did spot one on the A49 in Shrewsbury on sunday with all the camo on it. Its quite common to see them round my way because they go testing in the welsh hills quite regualarly.
Was the same in 2005 just before the XK150 was realased
Also seen the new Range Rover Evouqe knocking about too wearin the same sort of disguise

Those output figures aren't far off what the 2.7 D had on launch so should move it about OK. I've read they've managed to shed some weight too.
Do they have the nuts to put the same engine in the XJ? There are four cylinders in the S-Class these days...
The XJ in normal trim is pretty close to the weight of the XF due to all the aluminium used in construction, so it would certainly be capable of hauling it around. Whether they'll want to is another matter though. I've not seen many XJ minicabs (although that would be AWESOME).Do they have the nuts to put the same engine in the XJ? Good. I love the rear and side view of the current XF but the front end is just vile
We all thought that after the concept looked so nice. It seems the powers that be at Jag thought it too, thankfully.Jaguar are going after the fleet market with this, it should also fit nicely into the gap left by the X-Type. A nice entry into luxury car market.
i rented an e200 kompressor for a week. I was gobsmaked at how a 1.8 litre engine can be so refined, punchy. Not once did it feel underpowered and the car handled much more preciesely then my father's e320cdi which feels like its got a huge lump of iron sat over its front suspension (which it has!)
What jag desperately need to do is to improve the perceived quality of their products. I had a 08 XKR. The plastics feel cheap and hollow as do the doors and dash (even covered in swathes of leather). Door hinges look cheap. Clips break in the engine compartment; plastic covers in the engine bay seem to warp etc etc. Its all very cheepy japaneesey. The late nineties jags felt much better in this respect.
