All of you above, you do realise that when you buy a car you do get to choose which colour paint it has!?!
The CSL was available only in two colours and the GTS only in one colour so did the E36 M3 GT. If this is a true limited production car, it may have very limited colour choices.DodoRacing said:

The E46 CSL, 2 colours as mentioned - Silver & Black
Even the 1M is only offered in 3 colours AFAIK.- Orange, Black, White...
what is it with PH these days?
PH release info that BMW, the company generally known for being the best in the business at making fast saloon cars, release info that they'll be making a lighter, harder M3. A saloon car with a high revving V8 with over 400bhp and people are moaning at the colour.
WTF. i thought this was a place for people who like car
well, i think it'll be a brilliant car. all M3's have been so far.

Because we like cars so much, we are far more demanding/discerning and we are opinion formers Just imagine the E21 had been announced in the internet era - all the comparisons with the legendary 2002, what reviews on the tail happy 323i?

How many special editions have there been - the latest was the Competition pack, previously the Edition and I believe there is one more. And none really special.
So they have milked that for what it was worth, and now offer a really special swansong NA M3 - a bit like the E30 M3 Sports Evo (darker wheels than the standard M3) - make it a limited edition car, 1000 or 2000 units and you have a ready market.
The Competition Pack is just that, a spec pack, its not really a special editionSo they have milked that for what it was worth, and now offer a really special swansong NA M3 - a bit like the E30 M3 Sports Evo (darker wheels than the standard M3) - make it a limited edition car, 1000 or 2000 units and you have a ready market.
I find it rather odd they would choose the saloon version of the M3 to base a CSL version on. Wouldn't it be better to choose the coupe? The saloon looks rather "heavy" in the rear quarter section to me. I think its the height of the rear quarter-light window that spoils the look.
I do also agree that the dark blue with black wheels colour combination is an odd choice to display an upcoming model in, I find it rather hard to "see" the car properly, if that makes any sense. It's hard to properly pick out the lines of the car.

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! It is strange they'd choose the saloon for the successor to the CSL. Didn't CSL stand for something like "Competition Sport Lightweight"? I can't see this being "light".
However, I'm apparently in the minority that I actually like the colour combo, though I'll admit it is a bit "unorthodox". Also, I love the sound of the e92's V8!
