Hi all,

Well its renewal time again on my TVR (second/weekend car only) i have spent the last month searching for the best quotes and cannot even remotely get anything close to last year or even a sane quote. Now in the last year i only used the car from march to roughly October and will only do the same this year. I would'nt dream of driving it in the cold or wet!!

My question is would i be penalized more if i pay for it in full now and cancel in say November or pay monthly and cancel? I dont know how they work out the percentages on refunding a canceled policy etc.

Im not at all fussed on not getting the years NCB as every year my insurance goes up in anyway!

Thanks all

Last year I had a Footman James policy on my summer car. Paid for twelve months, cancelled at six months and got a third of the premium back.
A day over six months and there would have been no refund.

Your insurance would probably have gone up by considerably more if you didn't have the no-claims bonus. They're still worthwhile.

would be easier (and cheaper) to just pay it in full. Then when you come to cancel it, they'll refund you the remaining weeks/months minus their admin fee (which is usually a joke of around £50)
