My god that looks terrible.

At least the one I saw was a (probable) 20k+ thing with nice paint and big shiny shiny wheels..
You can easily enough spec them up to 30k + a nicely specified Cooper S is going to be easily 25k redface

The one I saw parks on the same road as a Classic Mini, I'm hoping to get a pic of them near each other at some point, i get a feeling the comparison would be hilarious.

It is what happen's when you don't spend thousand's upgrading an already expensive car to a half decent spec and decide to order a basic one with wheel trim's that have been stolen in this case lovely.

Passed a MINI dealer in Hertfordshire with a half dozen lined out the front, presumably awaiting customers. Different colours- white, red, BRG, dark blue, that metallic diarrhoea brown that every luxury manufacturer seems to offer these days....

Every single one of those MINI Countrymen would look better after crashing into something. I've never seen such an ugly car.

("Countrymans" sounds wrong, though I can think of a "C" Word that suits better!) hehe

Never mind whether it's too big to be a MINI or not, I don't care. I care that it's got no redeeming visual features. (Granted, it's subjective... but it seems many people here agree.)

The Countryman looks like it wants to eat the Mini. If it gets any fatter, it'll turn in to a Freelander.

Our neighbour has had one for a couple of months now. They took great pride in telling us how they were in great demand and they managed to secure one blah blah. Its a Cooper S in white with black wheels.

It looks sheeeyite.

I do get the line of BMW's thinking though......'Hmmm how do we keep hold of the twentysomethings who bought a MINI from us, but need a bigger car now they are tubbed up? The pathetic space in the rear of our MINI cars are forcing them to buy elsewhere, lets make a BIGGER MINI!

Maybe they should just revive the obvious model name 'MAXI'?

IMO the MINI Countryman's are colour sensative , and in most cases they look ugly....but have you seen Shmee's new Countryman? That one looks alright because it is the best colour for the car and it has the right wheels. biggrin

Personally I think its quite spec dependant, some of the Cooper S versions look ok in gunmetal grey with black wheels (17 inch I beleive), although i would agree they are pretty ugly from the front.

Bizarrely the wife loves them, i cant see the attraction, would rather have a Clubman tbh (in JCQ guise of course)

Perhaps BMW should have tried to get the Maxi name as well as Mini.

That was my thought as well when I first saw one of the hideous things a few weeks back......far more appropiate.

It must be ugly, it makes the X1 look good.

Also saw onw yesterday on the A1, black with steels. The driver was wearing wrap around sunglasses and it was cloudy and getting dark! He thought he looked the business. He just looked an idiot.

I've seen two and that is two too many. Maybe they should team up with Harley to make a MINI Fatboy.

Wasn't the last car to carry the name 'Countryman' a Montego estate?

Seems fitting.
