Why is this on PH? Which part of Speed Matters does this appeal too? What's next, reviews of the new RAV4 or X-Trail? It's got chavvy Victoria Blecham written all over it and you're talking as if it's a Pistonheads car?
Please ask yourself: "If this had a Nissan badge on the front and wasn't made in Britain, would I care"? I think the answer would be a very solid NO.
because it has pistons, and this is pistonheads, not Cars-that-seefarr-thinks-are-worthy-heads.Please ask yourself: "If this had a Nissan badge on the front and wasn't made in Britain, would I care"? I think the answer would be a very solid NO.

I say again "If this had a Nissan badge on the front and wasn't made in Britain, would I care"?
I don't know, would you? There are some on PH who enjoys offroading, so 4x4's are in interest. It'll be interesting to see it's offroad ability. If Nissan brought out a new Patrol, akin to the older ones, that would peak my interest, as did the FJ Cruiser, as the FJ was an icon for 4x4's. seefarr said:

Well we like to think that Speed isn't the only thing that matters. Please ask yourself: "If this had a Nissan badge on the front and wasn't made in Britain, would I care"? I think the answer would be a very solid NO.
Other things like the British motor industry, jobs at Halewood and Gaydon, leading edge design and technology - not to mention the other cars you might consider in your garage next to that Lamborghini - all matter by varying degrees to quite a lot of our community, too. (Don't they...?)
I really can't work out whether I like the Evoque or not tbh.
I've just had a new Freelander 2 and not actually needing 5 doors, but there being almost no 3 door 4x4's I always had nagging doubts whether I should have held off for the Evoque, but every time I see it I find myself just not quite thinking it looks right but not quite being able to put my finger on why.
I've no doubt they will sell like hot cakes though.

High-spec Vectra's and Mondeo's list at similar pricing to the 28k entry needed for one of these.
Stunning looks, stunning value.
A hugely desirable car and if the early drive reports are anything to go by then a fine steer too.
I'm sure it'll blitz the ski-field run and easily handle dirt tracks which, if we're honest, is about as far as 99% of us ever travel off road.
I want one.

I'm glad that it drives well enough. The hilarious oversteer mode sounds, well, hilarious.
So what if loads of them get bought by people who don't care or wouldn't understand car handling if it hit them in the face, the fact this car seems to drive well means those of us who do like it, can afford it, can buy one and have fun in it.
As my knee gets worse (thankyou crappy artificial new knee ) I keep on thinking about a tall vehicular mode of transport, thing is they all drive like crap (the ones I've tested anyway).
