Any ideas on prices?
Looks like a kick in the teeth for the Evora if £50-60k is possible.
Would rather have an Evora. The rear end looks suspiciously high up, as if the engine will be too, which can't be a good thing for corners.Looks like a kick in the teeth for the Evora if £50-60k is possible.

Looks more like a Noble.
Fibreglass body? Check.
Mid engine layout? Check.
Standard native engine turbocharged to death? Check.
Its a German Noble. I wouldn't be surprised if Melkus means Noble in German...
It doesn't, in fact Melkus is a rather old manufacturer, albeit a very very small one.Fibreglass body? Check.

They started production of their first car in the GDR, which was called the RS1000, sometime around 1969 I think.
I guess that's where they got the new name from.
But it sure looks like a mix of different British sportscars
I don't think it's in the same price bracket as Lotus/Noble though. Not at an estimated 122,000 Euro.

For the people who think it looks like a copy of an elise... you do know why it looks like an elise right?

Pretty little car.
I am reminded however, that similar claims were being made by Artega for their offering too. Also a pretty car of very similar aspiration.
I have never seen one, nor know of anyone who has seen one. And its been around a few years now..
I can't imagine Lotus worrying about another flim-flam German pretender turning up now.
I actually saw an Evora the other day. No, really I did, it was an odd blue (think Clio 182 blue) - only about the second time ever. I am reminded however, that similar claims were being made by Artega for their offering too. Also a pretty car of very similar aspiration.

I see Caymans nearly every day...

Why so? Lotus is an established maker, the Evora hailed as one of the best handling cars currently on sale, and has a sonorous V6 lump powering it.Looks like a kick in the teeth for the Evora if £50-60k is possible.
This Melkus has a turbo 4-pot, and no history whatsoever.
My money would be on the fact that Lotus won't give this car a second thought...
