I had a 2.2VTI, same colour as that as well.

It was a fun car. The four wheel steering would catch off gaurd when parking or doing a U turn!! Not overly slow either. Sadly I wrote mine off acting like a tool (I was very young at the time). I was gutted frown

Nice cars. Prefer the 4th Gen though, better dash!

Cracking cars.

Fantastic interior. Very well build. Nice ride and excellent handling and for the price, they are amazing bargains.

Avoid the Autos though, they aren't known for being that reliable.

Buy one.

At low speeds or full/lots of lock the rear wheels steer out meaning you over-rotate if not paying attention.

It has the effect of moving the point of rotation back from the front wheels a bit so it doesnt go where a nromal front steer car would go when turning, the back rotates out too, like a 2mph powerslide. Feels a bit eerie like someones put their hand on the roof and spun the car rather than you steering it, you get used to it though.

If you wait till July you can have my mk4 vtec with 142k of service history as I'll be getting rid of it frown

/shameless plug over

As stew says above, it just turns quicker and in a much smaller area than you expect smile

Of course if you were to be whizzing round a roundabout and momentarily put a lot of lock on then you'd get a cheeky rear end slide to contend with...

Have to say in general though the thing is glued to the road when going round the twistys even considering mine is running some very cheap and cheerful rubber atm.

Buy it, top up the oil, swap the gearbox oil and go rev it's tits off...

They are good to drive, well built but most of all incredible value for what they offer.

I've had the manual version and thought it was good to drive, nice engine, good on the motorway, good on fuel for a car with around 200 bhp (the later red top ones have more than non 'red top' engines). They are not sporty in the way an integra type R or Civic Type R is to drive, but a good middle ground between sporty coupe and comfy cruiser.

The rear wheel steering is great its the only car I've driven with it and it really makes a difference (just make sure its working ok before buying it will not be cheap to fix).
