To get a refund, can I take just the disc into the PO, or need any supporting paperwork?

You fill a form in, attach the disc - without using pins or tape! - and send it to DVLA.

Well, that's how you used to do it. Since they introduced continuous RFL I haven't cashed one in.

As above - you can download a form on the DVLA website, fill it in, attach the disc and you will receive a refund for the remaining unused months.

I did this back in January this year and the cheque took about 4 weeks to arrive. My name was spelled incorrectly, but at least it arrived.

You need a V14 form and you must be the registered keeper(or previous)of the vehicle.
