Why do they have to hide the release catch or button? I've looked but it doesn't appear to be anywhere obvious. Does anybody know where it is? Thanks.

Ford badge on the front grille should rotate, there's a hole for your key underneath.

Flip the ford badge on the grille and use the key to open it.

Behind the Ford badge on the front. Spin it, pop the key in, left, right bosh.

I hear Ford are supplying these wonderful things called "Owners Manuals". They give you one free with every car, and if you happen to lose it, you can even download a digital copy off their web site.

I also hear an upstart company in America called "Google" is going to start this web site, where you type in common questions and the answers are brought up instantly on your computer screen.

Whatever will they think of next? A phone you can carry around, that doesn't need wires?

I hear there's a forum called Pistonheads (??), made up of car enthusiasts and smug aholes, where you can ask car related questions and (usually) receive helpful answers.

You would of thought a car mechanic would know this.

Not on my focus.

Just before i bought it the feck-wit mechanic who did the MOT smashed the lock etc to bits so now its a screwdriver job

OP, who do you think you are?

You think you can walz into this motoring forum and ask car-related questions?!

Get with the program please.

On a serious note, when I got my Mundano I thought it was a bit daft not just having the usual release lever inside the cabin and it took me a few minutes to find so don't let the piss taking get to you!

Fiesta still has a conventional release handle inside the car. It isn't located where you think it would be though, but I am not saying as I am waiting for the "Fiesta bonnet release, where is it?" thread to reveal it.

It's also a pain in the arse if you want to open the bonnet to diagnose a problem without switching the engine off and having to restart it.

Must be a game that the Ford engineers play - hide the bonnet release catch; I had a Ka as a hire car when they first came out and struggled to find the catch. It is actually the lever on the underside of the steering column that looks like a steering column height adjust lever....

Do agree that if you aren't used to Ford's system (my last Ford was a Cortina.....) it does cause some headscratching before you plough through the handbook - or pluck up the courage to post on PH. smile
