Yep, I would. In fact I'd buy most of my cars back if I 1/had the space and /2 knew all about what had been done wrt servicing and caring ownership, etc.

Go for it. You may well kick yourself in the future if you don't...

Nope. I'd have my Ducati 999R back though.

The only old car i'd have back would be my old faithful 1993 Nissan Micra. Never missed abeat, heard stories of it clocking over 150k now and still going strong..until the fat bint crashed it!

It depends on how your aspirations have moved on. I sold a C4 Corvette once and it tore my heart out but went on to far better things so though I loved it, I would probably find it disappointing now (condition etc) though I would still buy a minter.

If you really want an S1 Elise again, the yes it sounds like a perfect solution.

If that car was just a steeping stone / box to be ticked as part of your cars-to-own list and there are many others still out there, then no I don't see the point.

I have done.

Sold my very nice E30 320i, for more than I paid for it, when I 'upgraded' to a 325i that on paper was better in every respect. 8 years later I bought it back at a loss (admittedly in even better condition) from the guy I sold it to. I know it will never be a top of the line classic but it was my pride and joy when I first bought it.

No, I wouldn't, because you've already been there and done that and there are so many other cars you could be trying.

I have, too.

My first wife took my SEC when she did off with the milkman. 6 months later she texted me to say it didn't suit her and she was trading it in for a pittance. I had missed the car and couldn't bear the thought of it being lost for so little so I bought it back for £500 more than she'd been offered. It wasn't the best move I've ever made as she had neglected it terribly and I have had to pile money into it to get it right. I'm glad I did it though: I love that car. I am a bit sentimental about cars and find it hard to part with them. I would buy back my 380 SL C if I could: I should never have sold that. And I would have my first ever car, A224 BFT, a BMW 316, bought for £750 and sold three years later for £750. It has gone now, though, I've checked!
