Friends with standard steel bars have found they get whistling or other sounds with them at certain speeds. Very car / speed sensitive though.

Hmmmmm.

I've already got road noise aplenty so I'll probably save the few quid and turn the stereo up some more rofl

We have Aero bars on one of our cars permanently. They don't seem to affect economy or noise at all.

We have square bars for the other car and they are quite noisey; I've also found that the noise is even more irritating in the rain and at high speed. I therefore take the square bars off the moment they are not required.
