My on my, I bet the first meeting of these like minded individuals would be a giggle to attend.

Oh and I know some one who pulled up the anti-ram-raid bollards outside the warehouse one evening and then reversed into them. . . . In a. 2 months old £100k car . . . . but he did admit it was his fault
Just say you're one, and then destroy the case in court by saying the things mentioned in this thread.

So, let's say this lady, while walking to her car, dropped her purse and bent over to pick it up. A guy in a car that was parked next to her then reverses out, doesn't see her, and runs her over. Would she say it was her own fault for not being visible to the driver? scratchchin

Not just the British, this Polish fella was most insistant, to the point of calling the police and passing me over to them that he shouldn't have to pay to have his car fixed and we should pick up the bill because "the trolleys shouldn't have been there". I did ask him what he would have said if he had run over a child who shouldn't have been there, and then suggested that he give us his address so we could bill him for the trolley he knackered hehe

While I don't excuse her legal action (stupid), I have used that car park on more than a few occasions. It's one of the most badly-designed car parks I've ever been in. Some spaces are extremely difficult to access if driving in the direction indicated by the painted arrows, and when you do manage to get into one, they're often only as wide as your door mirrors. The entrance contains a mini-roundabout around which nothing but a black cab could turn, it's that small. There is hardly any space to wheel a trolley, pedestrians wonder aimlessly about the place, the list goes on.

It's a fairly terrible place to park your car. Just around the corner, however, is a nice M&S, and the car park there is excellent smile

in Leicester, we have bollards which

a) light up
b) spin round and
c) play music:

about 40 seconds in. I have never seen anyone reverse into these, so maybe these should become the new british standard. I'm sure we can get a BS number for these... biggrin

Don't get me started on the abandoned trolleys thing, this is an example of supermarkets not giving a fk. That said the chap should have spotted them in the first place.

Fixed that, they don't get them from the middle of the (small) carpark do they?

Actually, abandoned trolleys are an example of customers not giving a fk.

Why should supermarkets have to recover their trolleys because some customers are simply to fking lazy to put them back where they found them???

Some people are just too fking lazy to walk a few yards and put the trolley back in it's proper place.

This, despite the fact that supermarkets have tried to make things easier by spreading the trolley storage areas around the car park.

So if benefits-Betty manages to reverse out of a space and hits a parked micra that sprang out of nowhere, what do you think the most likely is gonna happen?

(a) She leaves her insurance details on the window of the other car / Waits for driver to return to apologise and settle up insurance?
(b) She blames driver of said Micra for parking in a space that she didn't see and demands compensation for the anguish caused by having parked cars viciously assaulting her?
(c) She drives away, hoping driver or witnesses didn't see her hit the car or are taking her details?

I'm guessing C myself.

I would hope that they wouldn't pay out for fear of a huge number of similar claims.

People like this are the cattle.

Next she'll be suing them for selling her the food that made her rear end too big to see past.
