Sorry folks yet another Insurance whine.

Same car, same place, same job, no claims, convictions or accidents yet my insurance has gone up over 30%. With last years massive increase it is now double what it was 2 years ago.

Strangely my wages are about 25% lower than 2 years ago, same job, same place etc.

Whine over.

frown bad news. I dread to think what my insurance renewal is going to be for the GTV in a couple of months. Best buy some lube and make sure there's ample funds in the pot.

30% up this year compared to last but due to last year's massive increase now 100% more than 2 years ago.

Hence double what it was 2 years ago.

What is annoying is my insurance compared to my girlfriends. I have been driving for 6 years. 4 NCD. My insurance £800. For the same car OH year younger, held license for a year, already had a 100% fault claim £900..........

My dads insurance renewal came through recently, they wanted £910 to insure his car.

Bearing he is 73, clean licence, no bumps etc etc, guess what car the £910 was to cover ?

A 1996 astra automatic estate, that's worth £500 tops (if that)

That's over 3 times what he paid last year, 5 mins on the web had him a new quote of £250 for better cover.

I think insurers just try it on each renewal time.

Quick play with Compare gets me back to what I paid last year if I go with Admiral. Shame as my current broker has done me proud over the years but suddenly seems unable to get me a decent quote.

Has been nice to deal with a company that picks up the phone within seconds and is an actual office, not a call centre, but I need to save some cash.
