Actually It's not that i dont like it. If someone showed it to me and said "This is the new Honda NSX" I would like it, I'd think that all that overstyling, and LED madness and compubabble dash was just about right for those crazy Japanese.
But for an Italian car....No, not for me. As a piece of engineering and as a dynamic and thrilling sports car, I am in no doubt that it's leaps ahead of the Murci, but as a Stylish piece of Italian exotica it doesnt do anything for me.
I agree with you entirely. But the car is so stunningly desirable, Id feel a bit of a noodle to point out something which was novel and different, which might actually grow on you as an owner, if you were fortunate enough to own the vehicle. They do look very similar. Got to be some pissed off Reventon owners around now that their million pound supercar looks like a regular old lambo and in a couple of years that matt paint is going to look very dated too.
I never really got the Reventon. I'm sure Lamborghini made a huge amount of money out of the ones they sold. After all, how different is it really to a Murcielago underneath. Interesting to hear comparisons with other cars. My new Mclaren arrives next month and my Lambo Dealer's Aventador demonstrator arrives the same week, so we are going to do some back to back tests. Watch this space...

Even from same angle and same colour, the lines are very different dispite the carry over of some features:
Shame the Gallardo's mpv quarter windows have made there way over to this.
I think we're going to have to agree to disagree on this one. Baring that side scoop, those two cars look almost identical to me in those pics.Shame the Gallardo's mpv quarter windows have made there way over to this.

I think it's absolutely fantastic, I'm so glad Lambo have gone back to Scissor doors, it's one of the things that made me love them, the Gallardo not having them is one of the reasons I'm not a huge fan. Sad I know.
[not that I'd turn a Gallardo down of course!]
I think Lambo have succeeded again, and I do hope it's pissing off Ferrari!

This is the successor to the Murcielago not the Gallardo, we are yet to see if the Gallardo's replacement will have conventional doors or not. Sorry to hear about your misguided bitterness towards Ferrari, have no doubt they will not be pi**ed off, they have no fear of some healthy rivalry, they are doing OK in their own right. my lord that car is stunning
But you know what I have found a reason not to buy one. something that would annoy me every time i looked at it( well that and I would never ever be able to afford one)
can anyone tell me why the cross bracing in the engine bay is off center from the engine? shouldnt it be right in teh middle of the V? now Ive noticed its going to annoy the hell out of me

Probably is the gearbox meaning it has to be offset. The Audi A8/S8 (with the 4.2 V8), had a massive offset engine due to the gearbox.
Not that far off centre really though, and other stuff will have been fitted to the other side to give it some balance if needed.
Still looks weird though

Still don't think it has enough new elements in it for me and am I the only one who actually prefers the looks of white Murcie SV in that video over the new one?

Out of interest, to those who are wetting their pants over this, are any of you out of your twenties? I'm not knocking it, bit it is clearly designed for a certain target audience and taste.
I am 36 this year and think its an epic bit of kit... But then again I do have the brain of an eighteen year old! Aparf from the popped collar on Sutters, good write up and again, a beautiful car. WANT!

Good. It looks like car makers are getting over the technological hump and have figured out how to make cars exciting again, electronics and all.
I bet it looks even better in the flesh too. Hopefully it will give Ferrari enough of a kick to start designing cars that have some appeal for people over 23.
