This would be the 458 / McLaren competitor they talked about making.
will it be a better all rounder to the McLaren....??? seems like that has seriously moved the game on in terms of both ridiculous speed as well as comfort.kbf1981 said:

Precious materials and fancy facts are all well and good.. but what does it really have going for it? It doesn't sound special, it isn't the fastest car in the world and it looks like every other car in that bracket. Hasn't moved looks on.
If I really had the money, today. I'd be after the Noble (for the drive) or the last Murcielargo for the experience/theatre.
Edited to add: I had my name on the Mclaren mailing list when they were going to try and undercut the 911 with it. A modern rival in that price bracket, boasting new innovations in design from a UK firm would truly have been something to marvel, as impressive as the F1, a British R8.. but at that price. It's nothing new.

Is the McLaren really that special? It's slower and less practical than the latest 997 turbo S and considerably more expensive?!

slower than the new turboS turboS is not as fast!! track time wise, the mclaren is about that of the gumpert apollo whilst being "as comfy as an E class" according to chris harris from evo. said it's the most talented car he's ever, ever driven by some margin.Precious materials and fancy facts are all well and good.. but what does it really have going for it? edit - McLaren always said this was after the 458, they are doing a 911 rival in the near future.
this is what chris harris said:
Unlike any other sports car because it separates the roles of ride and roll-stiffness. On a straight, bumpy road, it’s more comfortable than a Merc E-Class, change direction and it’s sharper than a GT3.
