Chester Auto Services did my mini too. Very pleased. They did make a mistake (which they won't repeat) but sorted it with minimum hassle and no cost to me so I heartilly recommend them to you.

Just been quoted £1452 to replace a clutch at 49,000 miles. I am told by the BMW garage in Chester that this is normal wear and tear and there is nothing they can do about it. They are charging 211 for the part and £1241 for labour. They charge a ridiculous fee of £150 an hour for labour. They say the engine has to come out !

Does anyone know if this sounds right or is this another case of dealer ripoff
I thought BMW offered a reduced labour rate on cars over 4 yrs old?

If it's the dealer on Sealand Rd, that pricing doesn't surprise me. I bought my first MCS from there in 2003, after an "incident" with their "Service" Manager, I swore I'd never use them again

Needless to say the next few cars were BMW group, so they missed out on c£55ks worth of business over an issue that may have cost them a few hundred quid!
