Hello PH massive!

It's not often I come out of lurking to post or request something, but this time is a time of great importance.

My best friend has had her car some years now, a Vauxhall Corsa VXR, and it's been a nightmare. After a recent costly tyre balancing episode, she's decided she wants to get rid and get a Peugeot 106 GTi or Quicksilver variant. Now, I'm scouring the classifieds as we speak, but on the off chance of some other members looking, and those who have plenty of time on their hands, can you help me find her a clean, good example?

I've found this one relatively easily, but basically would like a handful of cars to litter into her inbox in order for her to choose something perfect for her.

Thanks in advance fellow PH'ers...

PS, PH Grammar Nazi's... I've just got back in from a 2 week exercise, i'm dirty, muddy, tired and deprived of sleep, so please address your comments to my Army Boss.

:/ Thought the Corsa VXR's were quite recent? 3 years or so since they've been out?

Nomatter what I think she might find a very big power drop from the VXR to the quicksilver and be very fustrated.

The GTI would be slightly more in tune with what she's used to.

GTi would be my choice over the Quiksilver.
Guess it depends on her age insurance wise?
Be hard to find a decent example nowadays tho and if you do you'll get lucky and it'll be a non-enthusiast or unlucky with someone who is an enthusiast.
Get over to 106owners.co.uk if that's still going.
I used to spend alot of hours browing that website when I had the 1.1 thinking I want a GTi someday.
Not my cup of tea now.

Costly tire balancing? What did they do tell her the car was too dangerous to drive and charge her £1,000?

Sounds like she won't like paying out for anything, especially on an old pug which is bound to have issues..

Maybe she needs to buy a bicycle??!?!

What's wrong with VXR? Wheel balancing costs next to nothing and shouldn't be the fault of the car itself unless there's some aftermarket alloy asshattery going on, with dodgy spacers or something.
