As you say - blatant. Have you spoken to them and asked mileage? Surely the online MOT history will betray it.

Most probably - but you can only get that once you have the log book, at which point you've already paid for the car, including signing the contract of sale that will have a clause in saying something about the mileage being "a guide only and not subject to guarantee". Which leaves you buggered.

So the situation would play for the vast majority of people, anyway. Is it possible to get the histories with the VIN? I can't remember.

Am I missing the obvious here, but as I read it:

Advert 1 (13th April) 4995 @ 57000 miles

Advert 2 (18th April) 4495 @ 85000 miles

So to me it looks like they listed it once and then realised they had understated the mileage so re listed with a lower price.

Stop being sensible, what will we have to moan about if you carry on like this wink

And in answer to the OP, it could be they have bought it a wig.

That would never be right, this is PH, everybody else in the world is a crook out to rob us blind and screw us over at every opportunity.
Good job we are all 16 stone "no fat" goatee bearded street fighters!biggrin

OP wouldn't it have been better to wait for an answer from the seller before besmirching their reputation on the Internet?

The ad at £4995 shows a screen price of £4495 in the photos!

Seems entirely possible that one of the ads is a mistake.

Reply back. No the mileage is 84k. WTF?
84237 is quoted in one of the adverts.

ETA Worryingly, this same advert quotes service history to 48000 miles!
