Those new big MINI thingies....

...is it just me or are they so, so ugly?

My missus has got a traditional (BMW) MINI Cooper S - lovely car it is too. However, these new (big) ones look like someone has stuck compressed air down the exhaust pipe of a traditional MINI and blown it up like a balloon.

I couldn't be further from your opinion. I love the classic, I though the 1st generation MINI was great but that monstrosity on the left is awful. I dread to think how much they cost.

I think they are very ugly car, but the biggest problem is that it's only a 2 + 2. Why make it bigger if it can't hold more passengers?

The awful ads don't help it out either...

I have an mcs in getting some work and they gave me the countryman for a couple of days, I think it is ok and whilst it will never be for everyone I am surprised by the reaction it gets. Drives very well too. Probably doesn't suit the name mini, I'll grant you!

I've had a thought. Maybe this is BMW's way of trying to make their MINI look mini. Either that or it's their way of revenge for their war reparations.
