This brings me pain.

I had a 7.2 RS along with my 7.1RS and when the 991 showed up I had no space at the time, and I let the 7.2 go. Major regrets.

I had Sabine drive it at the NS:
In retrospect I guess you’d have kept that, understandably.

You still have the memories at least.

The 3rd GT Porsche product ive owned but the 1st that's PDK. Ive had it since August last year but only covered 700 miles so far. looking forward to using it as it should be once the decent weather arrives.

991.1 RS in PTS Mexico Blue.

I've had this one (991.2 PDK) since 2019 but it's been tinkered with recently – I had JCR's valved titanium side silencer bypasses for a while (excellent) but Litchfield fitted a Dundon "Long Tube Street Header" – stainless manifolds with 200-cell cats – for me last week (even more excellent), swapped the air filters for RS-spec BMC ones and remapped it with their own Stage 1 map. I'd enquired about Cobb's new Acessport for 991 GT3s but Litchfield's was a fraction of the cost and I trust their expertise with Porsche GTs and Turbos.

The results are bananas – not far off 520bhp at the crank and it makes some really silly noises now. This one's a keeper (hence going a little Max Power with it) and I'm not at all tempted by the 992.

Dundon make a plenum/intake swap so there are a few more horses to be wrung out of this bonkers engine yet, and the money-no-object wish list includes a DSC controller and some combination of E-Motion Engineering/Manthey/DSC Sport suspension, a Manthey spoiler/Cup front lip, an Antigravity battery, a carbon 911R bonnet and either BBS FiR or Cinel Forged wheels (or Manthey magnesium BBS if I really pull my finger out)...

It's currently on PS4S, which I rate very highly indeed. Oh, and fou is French for "crazy"...

Looks great in that colour.

How you finding the flappy paddle thing? I reckon it suits that car well.

My thinking on my own car, a 997 and I’ve done some similar mods, including DSC, Antigravity, and the JCR stuff.

I would agree it really suits the car. I had a 997.1 RS for ten years and arguably it was more special blah blah, it had turned into a storage ornament that didnt come out much. When it did I absolutely loved it mind.

The 991 just feels a big step up in overall package and usability. While still managing to feel like an event. Feels a lot more modern and looks it too.
Pleased I held out for a PTS smile

Ive fitted houndstooth seat inserts and a JCR superlight ti exhaust with Titanium tips. Thats it perfect for me.

Just to add ive owned a mclaren which was obviously paddles. The PDK system is far superior.

I love a manual 'box, despite having spent probably 10-15 years dailying autos at one point, I never found the switch back to manual awkward.

I drove 991.1 GT3 and RS and was a bit apprehensive as to whether, on a fun car, I'd gel with the PDK, but it's effortless, intuitive and very nicely suited to the modern platform IMHO.

991 interior is almost several generations ahead of the 997 which IMHO was badly dated (PCM is Fisher Price dogst) at launch and not as cohesive a design as the 996.

Ill be back in a manual Porsche at some point, whether that's a Touring or another GT4.

I have small car envy right now. My daily, a Taycan, is excellent, if anything but compact.

My BIL bought my nephew a VW up, in a sort of Mexico blue and I was smitten with it. At the weekend, we were out with friends, who gave us a lift. She'd just given up her company car and bought a Citroen C1 as a stop-gap and riding in it was areal hoot. So small and, preferably 3 cylinders, is a win.

I can imagine, teaming that up with GR handling and performance is epic.

smile Ive also got an Up GTi that is a proper hoot. Obviously not as technically dynamic as a GR Yaris but in a simple back to basic way just a laugh. Tiny, cheap to run (60MPG) and the best bit you can park it anywhere. With 114 bhp it wont set any land speed records but once you get it going its more than nippy enough.

As a fellow 991.2 GT3 owner i'd really like to hear the result of your mods. Do you have any video of it going bananas? I imagine it sounds incredible.

I'm not sure this entirely does it justice, but here it is on Litchfield's dyno last week...

It still has the standard rear silencer – and it's still therefore switchable from "quite loud" to "very loud" and I'm not sure I'd swap this for anything else (except maybe a titanium RS one and JCR's exhaust tips to satisfy my gram-saving obsession). The single "pop" you get on PDK upshifts at about 4k rpm is now a "BANG" and the map feels like a big improvement. I wasn't sure I'd notice an extra 20bhp/20lbft in the midrange, but it's pretty rabid now.
