I'm not sure this entirely does it justice, but here it is on Litchfield's dyno last week...

It still has the standard rear silencer – and it's still therefore switchable from "quite loud" to "very loud" and I'm not sure I'd swap this for anything else (except maybe a titanium RS one and JCR's exhaust tips to satisfy my gram-saving obsession). The single "pop" you get on PDK upshifts at about 4k rpm is now a "BANG" and the map feels like a big improvement. I wasn't sure I'd notice an extra 20bhp/20lbft in the midrange, but it's pretty rabid now.
That sounds (and looks) stunning.

Thanks for sharing the video. It's sounds amazing! One day when i'm less concerned about my warranty i will go down a similar route.

smile Ive also got an Up GTi that is a proper hoot. Obviously not as technically dynamic as a GR Yaris but in a simple back to basic way just a laugh. Tiny, cheap to run (60MPG) and the best bit you can park it anywhere. With 114 bhp it wont set any land speed records but once you get it going its more than nippy enough.

I bought a basic UP (with something like 60 bhp) as it cost less to buy and run that for my short cross-country daily commute in total, than just putting fuel in the R35 GT-R I had at the time! I honestly had more fun on the way home after picking the UP up, than I'd had in the previous 9 months in my GT-R! Made me feel like an 18 year old again! Completely carefree motoring. I could drive it fully committed without bothering anyone or my licence. The GT-R lasted another 9 months. The UP stayed with me for 5 years! I loved that little thing.

I now have a 3 cylinder Cooper, which fills a similar brief, but the steering is just plain wrong, and it has too much power laugh

There’s a black 812 near me. My mate has a Grigio Titano one, which is handsome, but somehow, in black they look so much lower and meaner.

Picture of my GT3 painted by another Pistonhead member (there is another thread running on his car art work). Thought it worth sharing here.

As a fellow 991.2 GT3 owner i'd really like to hear the result of your mods. Do you have any video of it going bananas? I imagine it sounds incredible.

That sounds incredible. I'm assuming you've given up on the extended warranty? Can I ask what you would do if something major happened - e.g. engine grenading - is there a cost-effective way of mitigating this risk or just something you have to accept?

Thanks. Essentially yes I've given up on the extended warranty. I've already used independents (RPM Technik) for servicing and rate them v highly, so I'd probably use some elaborate man maths to justify a full rebuild if it went pop.

The 4.0 seems rock-solid though and I've not heard of any major problems, even with loons supercharging them to 700-odd bhp...
