I thought it probably was yours. Still looks good smile
WRT it’s mileage, I think a lot of them have done very few miles over the past 5 or so years.

Really wanted a Zanzibar, my favourite Mk1 colour, but none on the market when I was looking for a GT3. Ended up with a Mk2. That was in 2018.

Beautiful car and very fair price in today’s market, and I don’t mind LHD at all. Buckets, no cage, air con, 90L tank, perfect for European road trips.

Me too - I only wanted Zanzibar and it actually took me three attempts to buy this same car before I was successful.

Which is exactly what I used it for many times (as well as driving holidays around the UK).

Not surprised, they’re no longer the cheap bit of plastic/rubber they used to be ten years ago. They’re now £375 eek

I did have a Guards red clubsport but sold it and regretted it! Then had a GT4 but as good as it was didn’t give me the enjoyment of these Mk1s. Then had the opportunity of this car and bought it immediately. It drives beautifully. Cheers

Is that the famous Zanzicup?

Lovely!
Nope, if it's the car I think it is, it's a genuine UK Clubsport and formerly owned by Chris W and subsequently a mate of mine, and seen here in a former life with brand new and spangly E88's that I bolted on to it :

I certainly owned a Zanzibar Red 996.1 CS ... my first ! It had been on Porsche' extended warranty with FSH but cost me a few bob to do all the stuff that happens ... Radiators / aircon condensers / coffin arms / and a silencer box / brakes ... bought it in Scotland. I could probably find the reg if anybody is interested ...

This one ?

The pink wheels were great ... but had been powder coated on the hub mating surface and came loose at Cadwell Park ... with an unexciting clunk coming out of Mansfield with Jason in the passenger seat (you know who you are !)

No Chris, it’s a 996 Turbo/S/X50 with a factory aetokit front spoiler.

I too went to view the car up in Scotland.
I was looking for another Zanzibar car, the car was a dog, poorly maintained, wrong size tyres, paintwork poor, interior tatty, and the vendor was asking strong money, so I walked.
Next time I saw it David B owned it and had chucked a huge chunk of money at it, both on aesthetics and mechanically, it looked a different car altogether and was mechanically sorted.

And I thought it was mechanically sorted when David bought it and neither of us thought it was too tatty inside ... The only thing he mentioned to me was that the work on the brakes had not been the best ... that engineer didn't last long at Strasse ...

That “engineer” was both inept AND negligent, “glueing” stripped caliper bolts in is nothing short of reckless.
The car generally looked tired, I was tempted, but the owner wasn’t willing to drop the price to a number that took in to account the amount of work that was required.
With hindsight (and having a good idea of what David spent on the car during his ownership ) I’m comfortable I made the right decision smile
