Many thanks. Artic Silver ??. Love the car... a few mods done to it since I got it and it’s now properly set up. It always amazes other drivers in more modern P cars how quick it is ??.
A friend of mine has a manthey 996 with a rebuilt closer stacked gearbox. He and I this year started using slicks on the old 996s....and scaring plenty of moderately driven 991s. Infact with his new gearbox he has been hassling fast driven 991s and moderately driven cup cars too!You cannot discount a skinny 996 with a few mods and stickier tyres

997.2 is barely far off analogue really.
Nice pair though!
Totally agree. That’s why I said journey. Nice pair though!
The 6rs is not quite as satisfying - less noise, harder to get the best out of, not as much power, less accommodating suspension.

For me, and it’s based on road driving only, the 7.1 and 2 are both superb road cars. The 2 is maybe marginally better - although the 1 is on intrax suspension and 888 tyres so gives it an advantage over a stock 7.2.

Interesting. I do remember now, that when I thought long and hard about all the pros and cons, the thing I really liked about the 997 platform over the 996 were the revisions to the intake and rev limit which IMHO do give a bit more excitement and drama. Even if the diff/ABS on the 997 is a blunter instrument (stock standard, at least) than the 996.The 6rs is not quite as satisfying - less noise, harder to get the best out of, not as much power, less accommodating suspension.
Splitting hairs though.

Dancing and fighting. Just two of the (many) things I am not really very good at.
Isn’t everyone on PH a bit too cool to dance, and hard as nails? You should be banned. If it counts for anything at all, I can take a decent punch?
