996 Turbo spoiler advise

My rear spoiler is not working and has been disconnected by the previous owner.
The micro switch pack has been removed from the right hand lifting ram.I am not sure why as there is no visible fluid loss.
My question is, is it possible to raise the spoiler and fix it in the open position?
If I slacken off the feed pipes to both rams will I be able to pull the spoiler up and lock it in the raised position? Or is there a kit available to modify the rams. Any advise would be very helpful

lots of favourable reviews on other forums from people who have fitted it. Apparently it's VERY simple to fit.
