Like to keep abreast of the market but I see hardly any for sale now. Have they all gone to China or something?

They have all snapped there timing chains in sympathy of the non mezger guys. Sitting in garages waiting for the funds so they can be repaired. Or maybe guys have decided they are the performance bargain of the century and are just hanging onto them until they become £150K cars smile

If you have to ask you probably can't afford it!

I think SM was referring to the proper widowmakers, not the earlier ones they used to drive round and round in circles biggrin

Some of us met up at the Sunday Service in Weybridge a couple of weeks ago, we had three 996GT2's and a 997 version, we even managed to park up together.

I had my low mileage car up for sale recently, may try again next year now as I need to come to a decision on what I do with it as a potential relocation in the pipeline for next year. I Had some email enquiries and a couple of calls but nothing came of them. As has been said many times on here not that many straight cars come onto the market now, several have sold recently, highest one was in the mid £80k's for a low mileage 1 owner car, most others seem to have traded in the £40k's

They are an amazing car and if I do let it go it will be a tough one to replace. Owners have known how good they are once set up correctly and they have been at a low price for a long period now, I think the penny has finally dropped on these and people are holding on to them.

What's the story with this one?

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/p...

Seems to be have been around for a while.

If you need to get rid of yours quickly unclepezza I'll offer you the same as I offered KAL at Brooklands for his mk2, would have offered more had it had the green label in the engine bay smilesmile

I recently read a post by a chap who sold his 2.7RS just before they went off the charts, don't be that bloke of the GT2 world!!

Ah, the Clinkard one has the wrong seats :-) No seriously don't know anything about this car.

Oh that's right the missing green label and the filler neck piece, mines definitely worth more as it has both those, and I know where to look if they go missing :-)

Yes agree that prices could go up on these in the future, makes the decision harder to make on mine could end up keeping it in storage and using it when I'm in the UK.

Green label means it's never been over-revved ;-)

When we meet at Weybridge, think it was KAL mentioned that you can't get the green paper tag anymore after he spotted I still had it in my car, as per photo. So we jokingly decided that a car without it was worthless :-).

As per over revs, I could be wrong but I think we only have to contend with range 1 and 2 on the 996 based cars....

The question is Does it have a part number on it? My mission is to find one since it disappeared the car just doesn't feel the same!

I'll have a look at the weekend as away with work currently. Doesn't the 997 have this green tag?

Of course any extra you get over 996GT2's offer you will have to split with me come the time to sell.

I think the GTR must be a great GT car, but it does do the driving for you so I think it depends what you want. Hell of a car for the money, both the GTR and the GT2.

GTR is a great car no doubt, its fast and its errr fast. However it has no soul, has no class, and costs a small fortune to run (esp compared with a GT2). I'm affraid there is no contest, unless of course you're into computer games
