Not sure what bump .. means on here
If it means likewise / ditto or me too, then I can advise both of you that I have seen this car on a couple of occasions in Hippos showroom and have given it a thorough look over as one day (when I save up enough) I fancy one of these having had a 996 GT3 which was fantastic
The car is immaculate with no signs of anything untoward and definitely worth a viewing for any interested parties
As to why she's still there, one of the owners uses this car occasionally and I suspect he's not to worried about quickly she sells??? It's not cheap, as she's a minter so it's not dear either.
Having had a car off Hippo I can suggest you won't find a nicer more genuine set of people to buy from
There's no way they would have bought this car if there had even been a suggestion of it having had a bump if that's the suggestion - if it is I'd guess you're confusing the car with another?? Or have you more info??
Any buyers - go view, as the car and the people are worth a run out to see - and they have lovely drinks
Give me a shout in 2 years if you buy her as I may have saved up enough by then :-) and can take her off your hands

I think BUMP just means to 'BUMP' the thread back to the top of the list in order for it to be seen by others that may have missed it If it means likewise / ditto or me too, then I can advise both of you that I have seen this car on a couple of occasions in Hippos showroom and have given it a thorough look over as one day (when I save up enough) I fancy one of these having had a 996 GT3 which was fantastic

Thanks for that - all makes sense now
So OP (I get that one ;-)) if you're genuinely in the market for an RS go check this one out at Hippo, you won't be disappointed with the car or the company - just down to what price works for you presumably??
Good luck with your arm twisting
I'll be having a drive out there Monday if you need me to check anything out?
If she's not sold of course ;-)

"Bump" was to move this thread back up to see if anyone had any info as this cars been for sale for a while and I'm curious first of all as to why as it's been up a while and I'm shortly in the market for an Rs. Saying he's not bothered if it sells is fine but doesn't explain why it's still there as I'm sure offering close to the asking price would buy it otherwise what's the point in having it advertised.
I take it your linked to this garage somehow also as you had started a new thread to advertise their open day recently on here so forgive me if I don't take your opinion on the car too seriously
Anyone else viewed or know anything about it? Someone must its had a couple of previous owners.

I know nothing regarding the history of this car, but I'm sure what appears to be a total lack of spec, is one of the reasons it's not moving.
I know spec is not what the RS is about, but it is nice to have a few toys, PSM, lift, phone etc. I may be mistaken, but after reading the advert and viewing the picis, I can't see anything!!!

Valid point I guess it is lacking a few extras however if the price was right and it's a sound car then might be a decent buy.I know spec is not what the RS is about, but it is nice to have a few toys, PSM, lift, phone etc. I may be mistaken, but after reading the advert and viewing the picis, I can't see anything!!!

Afternoon All,
I have no links with Hippo other than they are genuinely one of very few dealers that I would trust and recommend to others. The other being Bramley's (Guildford) where I bought my R8 from.
I sold Hippo a 996 GT3 in the past and they just bought my R8 V10 (and very nice she is too ;-))
I bought a Caterham R500 off them a couple of years ago and they were VERY honourable with a couple of minor gremlins I initially encountered. Other dealers would have washed their hands due to the nature of the car.
Oh, I sold them their furniture for the new showroom and offices too - if anyone likes what they see.
Just bought a TVR T350 4.3 - unfortunately Hippo didn't have any of these in stock, no surprise there.
If you're after an RS - the car is a very clean and genuine example, and for me personally an RS only needs AC the rest just adds weight and dilutes the event (go buy a C2S or a GTS if you want the toys and save some money too). Boy I hope it has air con on it!!! Regarding price, they do want to sell, but won't want to give it away, so anyone that's prepared to commit will be able to make a sensible deal I'm sure.
If anyone has any more queries - post up here, PM me or contact me at work - link on members page.

Regarding PCCBs - during past visits to Porsche Wilmslow I was amazed how many of the tracked GT3's seemed to end up with alcon steel kits on them once the PCCB brakes had "worn".
So save some money - if you're expecting to do a few trackdays go steel brakes, unless it's going to be a road only car I suspect in which case PCCB add kudos and saves unsprung weight, but I never found the steel brakes on the GT3 an issue.
Happy hunting everyone

Had PCCB on my gen1 997 turbo. Brand new set of pads lasted 2 days at SPA. You do the math. Needless to say that I went with steels on my gen2 GT3!So save some money - if you're expecting to do a few trackdays go steel brakes, unless it's going to be a road only car I suspect in which case PCCB add kudos and saves unsprung weight, but I never found the steel brakes on the GT3 an issue.

Whoops - didn't think lack of such things would make a car so unappealing.
Hippo lot seem very straight forward, phoned up this morning and hope to pick up the RS tomorrow afternoon.
Haven't seen it in the flesh yet so hope it lives up to reports after the drive down there in the morning!!
Regards the ceramics I've had them on my Scud and now on the 458. Not a fan of them at all either for road or track. The Scud would cook the brakes on track quite easily and the pads were soft as cheese. Far bigger fan of the steel alcons on my m3 racer. Think the tyres will give up well before a good pad/fluid combo.
Hope the drive back from Blackburn is a hoot :-)

Yes - it's the white 997.2 GT3 RS from Hippo. Steel brakes from the outset with this car as far as a I know. If it had come with PCCBs I would have been changing them more than likely as I've never got on overly well with them in the Scud or 458. Hope the drive is what I'm hoping for :-)

Congrats looks a belta without doubt you'll love it. AS for ceramics ive no real opinion just looking forward to pics :0Off topic but which did you prefer as a drivers car not a daily driver type - scud or 458?
Whilst at Hippo, take a look at my old R8 V10 and pass on a truly idependent opinion on condition as I think she's a belter and well priced too.
Just watched your oulton vid in the M3 - looked like the Audi felt to drive!! Needs another couple of gears.
Good clean laps, looked like you had fun annoying the caterhams!!!!
