Prices on the 964 have rocketed up over the last 12 months. 993's look to be doing the same now.

It is looking like 2014 is going to be the year of the 993. It was inevitable, the 3.2 and 964 made the jump in the last 18 months and continue to rise.

The more sanitised and computer controlled modern cars get, the more enthusiasts turn to the older mechanical cars to get their driving kicks.

Go 100K plus on the mileage with good history and grab a bargain. IMO well under priced compared to the post 100K 964 or 3.2, and no reason for it. The 993 engine can go for serious mileage.
I paid the equivalent of £19.5k (bug price plus some bits I sorted) for mine from 911V this time last year and she was on 111k miles....bargain as far as I'm concerned. Good paint, recent new hood, tidy interior and inches of service history.

For our one year anniversary we're going to Chris at Centre Gravity in the next couple of weeks to have some PSS10s fitted and the car set up lick

I think it was even before that. I was originally looking for a 964 this time last year and got the shock of my life when I looked in the classifieds and decent 964s had jumped from mid-high teens to low-mid 20s

I've just started looking again after seeing a lot of overpriced rubbish last year.

Too many silly dealer prices out there and private sellers expecting to sell at dealer level with no warranty laughable, but then that's with all cars!

If anyone is selling a 993 C2 Manual fhc let me know cash waiting for the right car.

Similar position to PHC... I have ~30k for a manual 993 with AC & sunroof, any colour considered (except black).
Not sure if the prices are going too crazy just yet though... Many cars out there are not selling, hanging around. Dealers are convinced the prices will rise though, so no signs of price drops on their stock either!

Nicest car out there was the iris car @paul devyea until yesterday... Another one like that please!

I looked at that car but couldn't live with colour combo, dealer price ok ish.
Yes many on the market are not selling.
It's a dilemma so many 993's in the UK demand is good but still supply of cars will be constant many owners are selling as they don't use their cars and know they're overdue £5k+ work suspension brakes clutch etc to get them back to good order then there are the rust issues on cars which have been out in the open for most of their lives, maybe why that car had a full respray after rust repairs.

Here is an example of crazy pricing... Is a WB C4 really worth £17k more than a NB C4?

Not to me, but others think so. They are pretty rare and they only need one buyer...

Having said that, I like the idea of a manual 2S with a 300bhp Wayne chip and some naughty exhausts....

Not sure that's a direct comparison. Specialist Cars are known for their, ahem, "leading edge" pricing!

Scom - OTT pricing from what we all know , they always seem to have POA . Embarrassed about what figure they put on cars or embarrassed if it's SOR the owner sees ? I wonder

prices on the move out here in Canuckland too. there just weren't many made - total production run of about 68000 i think. and minuscule numbers of the special varieties:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_993

you won't go wrong with a 993 provided it's mechanically and bodily sound (doh) - and most of them are.

bought my stock 95 C2 last year, paid approx 25k quid in UK money for it, with 88k miles on the clock and full specialist dealer history (Weissach here in Vancouver, BTW - good guys). the mileage hardly shows except in the driver's seat, and even that's not in bad shape. engine is still very strong and is amazing - will happily trot round town at 3-4k RPM, but take it over 4 and near the 6.5 redline and then you find why people love it. no varioram on the '95s but simpler electronics. and servicing costs are not (so far) unmentionable - of course I've not had to replace anything as yet, so i may change my view on that down the road!

take the plunge now before prices head north would be my advice.

and don't garage it - DRIVE IT!
