Looking for some help with this Carrera 4, its a 2006 car.

It looks like it has a sports exhaust but the bottom row of buttons on the dash look a little light (only 2 on the far left and one on the right) and I cant work out what the logo on each button is ?

What are the logo's and does it have the ability to switch on/off the sports exhaust ? It it because it is a non S ?

I would love some help clearing this up...

Tks !

Far Left = Sports Suspension
Middle = Sports Button
Far Right = PASM Off/On

That's what it is on my Turbo 997.1

Many thanks - but no logo/picture of twin exhaust ?

Is that because its integrated with the "Sports button" ?

Its a Carrera, therefore the buttons are slightly different than the Turbo.

From far left:
Spoiler Button (up/down)
PASM Button (sport/standard)
PSM Button (on/off)

It doesn't have the PSE button nor the Sport button (which is usually available with the Sport Chrono watch on the dash, but could also be retrofitted). You'll normally have one or other, not both.

Therefore, it may have only the exhaust tips of the PSE but no PSE. It may also have a "PSE Hack", but you won't know this unless you ask.

I thought I heard someone once say that the early 997.1 Carrera, when specced with the Sport exhaust had it activated simultaneously when the Sport button/PASM was was selected... and there was no Sports Exhaust Logo/button on its own ??

Is the second button PASM then ?

I've just thought of something, the car you're looking at is a 3.6, which didn't have PASM as standard, so the second button from the left may be Sport or PSE after all unless PASM was specified (which should not be assumed). It doesnt't seem like the car has the "watch" on the dash top, thus making it likely that the button is PSE (icon like a twin exhaust pipe).

There was also an option to retrofit just the Sport button (to sharpen some of the responses /mappings of the car but not installing the dashtop watch) for £600 odd a few years ago.

Sport is not the same as PASM, they are independent of each other, although touching Sport will put PASM into sport mode and, if you want to stay on the standard suspension, you hit PASM again leaving the other settings in Sport except for the PASM. Sport also makes the PSE (if fitted) into "loud at all times on".

In conclusion, I think thats a PSE button!

If the 997 is the same as the Cayman S, then the sport chrono and pasm buttons are independent. Pressing the sport chrono button though also activates the pasm and Pse if fitted.

That's definitely a PSE button and the car has the PSE tips too.

Can't see a sport button though and it doesn't have the stopwatch, so looks like no sports chrono. The one of the far right at the bottom is PSM though.

Also, doesn't have heated seats if that's a consideration...

The button that will be hiding behind the gear stick is going to be the spoiler up/down button, as they all have that and there's not enough room for another button before the PSE one that we can see.

So:

PSE - Yes
PASM - No
Sport Chrono - No

I would definitely recommend getting sport chrono retrofitted though as I personally think it makes a really good difference. Oh and a short shift kit too

Thanks all it was a PSE button.

2056 Carrera C4 with 42k miles FPSH but big service due in 8 months - Discs and pads probably need doing. 3 months tax left (£480).

Very good condition, owner last 4 years - did 18k in the 4 years. 1 previous owner. Tyres good. Drove very well.

PSE
PCCM - EU maps
Bose
Manual
Full leather
wheel centre caps
rear wiper
Tinted screen

Mtallic Pearl Blue with matching leather.

I bought it on the spot - what would be the right price..
