Couldn't agree with you more. Doing a similar trip next week and can't wait.

We're you in Cups and did they hold up for the whole trip?

Fantastic. Just got mine back from service; planning some trips and track days now. Always enjoy this part of the season - the anticipation of that howling flat 6 is tantalising!

Looking forward to using mine soon to. It's just having its 10 year facelift. ie all carbon bits re lacquered, front end respray, all wheels refurbed, front bonnet sprayed due to air bubbles and then detailed. Amazing cars and even after 10 years of ownership the car still surprises me when I drive it.

Cool, but the 997.2 RS looks better

Debatable - and if it didn't have PASM and so much rear brake bias it might be a better car too

The car is running Michelin Pilot sport 2's (not CUP's) - the grey 997 3.8 RS is my old car, now owned by a pal of mine.

I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think (yes, I am biased) that it looks great in the pics above.
...and that's before you drive them...at which point the magic just increases!

Nice shots, I've got the same trip next week as well - both are trackdays with Circuit Days.

Probably a few people on here going?

So I guess you were mixing it up with the 964 RL guys.
Be interested to know what you prefer on track the 996 or 997. Also the size difference in the 6 and the 7 is very noticeable in that 3rd picture

Yep - I'm in for this one too, not sure on what to take yet, the RS, or trailer the M3 all the way there and back from Edinburgh... decisions decisions...

I think you must have photoshopped that last pic...I don't recall being behind you at any time during the day biggrin

It was a great weekend...

On the tyres, I wasn't running cups, but SuperSports in 7.2RS sizes...best compromise for a cross continent blat and track day at this time of year for me.

My wheels were refurbed by www.wheelworksuk.co.uk in Crawley.
They did a great job and no I don't work for them.

Strange how it's the same things that go wrong with these 996 RSs but I still love them.

I was quoted £350 per wheel for mine. Seemed toppy but then again I don't know whats involved. Its a common problem with all these cars. I have seen some recently that looked like they had rotted

Agree, and I'm there next week too. Ring and then to Spa. On the 11.20 tunnel Tuesday smile

It is fantastic that some 996RS owners continue to enjoy the car in the manner in which it was intended by Porsche. A friend who owns a good low mileage example has just been offered 130k for his car - he didn't sell

The sad side of stratospheric values is a dis inclination to drive cars hard. It would be very sad that this would apply to the 6RS but I fear it's inevitabke
