Today being fairly warm and pleasant, I wound back the targa roof. As usual, wind noise spoiled the experience somewhat.

Out of curiosity, I reached up and held down the pop-up wind deflector strip. Wind noise immediately ceased. However it was, predictably, replaced by... wind. A pleasant, gentle 'wind in the air' sensation at 40mph, steadily increasing with speed to significant and unpleasant buffeting at 60mph. According to the kids, it was worse in the back.

So it seems that the wind deflector does what it says on the tin but at the same time creates horrendous wind noise. I call that bad design.

Does anyone know if there's any kind of after market replacement wind deflector out there (an internet search didn't reveal anything) or any kind of DIY solution? Surely it's not impossible to design a wind deflecting solution which doesn't result in so much wind noise.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,
