My GTS idles at 600rpm, seems low to me?

That's a bit low. IIRC, idle speed should be around 740 RPMs (+/- 40).

However, all you have to go on is what the tach reports and it can be inaccurate.

An OBD2 code reader/data viewer would let you look at the ECU RPMs number. It would be interesting to know what this reading/value is and does it agree with the tach.

My 996 Turbo idles about 800-900 when fully warm.

Cold start can be about 1100 for a few mins.smile

Idle speed from a cold start agrees with my experience with my stock 03 Turbo with a 6-speed, but the hot idle speed is high. If you are going by the tach the tach is probably reading optimistic.
