Love the SY CS K400.

But I would, I have the exact same car with 30,000 more miles sitting in my garage. wink

Personal choice, I would have a GR .2 CS K410

But whichever, all 996 GT3’s are a very special never to be built again.

(You may of noticed I’ve a thing for Manthey trinkets)

It’s interesting if it’s worthwhile for Manthey K410 upgrade if one has a Mk2.

Both LaSource’s and mine made over 400bhp standard.

As for your second statement, yes 100%!

Only done 1500 miles from when you saw her - getting the suspension fitted this summer you supplied me.

I also wondered if Dan was going to make an appearance, it's my mission to make him get his car dirty this year laugh

Dan, have you seen the OPC Portsmouth event the Sunday after Simply? There's a plan in the offing for an early morning blast around Surrey/Hants back roads before going there

R long since gone, lasted about 4 months IIRC. Replaced with this :

A 996.2 would be acceptable, if you immediately changed the wings/bumper/lights to those of the 996.1

Let’s not forget ditching the cup holders and imbuing the engine with some character smile
Cue apoplectic Mk 2 owners responses hehe

Alright, I'll qualify it...

I'd rather have a starship mileage or CAT D .2 that I could spank on track and not worry about ruining it's investment potential smile If it happened to look like LS's then I wouldn't complain!

No qualification needed, but yours sounds sensible all the same smile

I would have loved to have developed the same as my GR but in SY. Unfulfilled fantasy.
A week after I bought the GR car, an identical mileage and spec SY CS car came up for sale (not the one in the pic below) but I couldn't face the agro of trying to sell what I had bought etc.

I even played with photoshop to see what a SY version would look like (some fag packet editing):

...but it was not to be.

Wow, she is pretty.
What’s the full spec?

Give me a week or two on the engine cover, let me checkout an ecu I’ve been offered.

Lol - thanks, was just fishing for compliments biggrin

This was the second GR model I had owned so part of the attraction was trying out the other 'bright colour'.
But no, I am not complaining. Very satisfied with what I have.

La Source, gotta say I love your pics. thumbup

Re the Mk1 vs Mk2, as said it’s been done to death.
I owned a guards red Mk1 CS a while ago, sadly sold out of necessity to some guy on here, Mr DippySliff, I think he said his name was. biggrin

Hi Henry. wavey

Yes I’d love another but any GT3 would be great.
Personally I’ve done a complete U-turn on the styling and now think the Mk2 looks so sharp and a bit more aggressive. I prefer it.

I’m hoping to maybe be back in one soon and it will be a Mk2. The only Mk1 I can afford is the Parr guards red comfort but I’d forever be comparing it to my old CS, plus there’s the styling thing that I’ve mentioned above.

So I’ll very likely be a Mk2 comfort pauper, but I know one thing, I’ll be a very happy, big grinned Mk2 comfort pauper. hehe

They are all awesome cars and I’ve said it before I consider myself lucky to have lived through this era of motoring. Hopefully we’ll have a few good years left. thumbup

PS Numbers wise it was 103 uk Mk1s wasn’t it and I’ve read 250 ish Mk2s, although that seems a little low maybe.
I’m not bothered about which one the rest of world did or didn’t get though, as long as I get mine. tongue out

I almost bought the low miles and immaculate Mk 2 Guards red Comfort that was on the market up in Scotland last Autumn.

Someone dissuaded me from buying it, stating they weren’t that tuneable, though with hindsight, my guess is they had their own agenda when “advising” me ... I should have ignored them and proceeded with buying it.

I’d planned to stick a set of LM’s or E88’s on it, an RS rear wing, my Ohlins 3 way adjustables, my Manthey K400 exhaust and let in the RS vents to the front bumper. Job jobbed, and a shed load of cash in the bank biggrin

Hi Mark. It’s Dippy Spliff please (or Slipped a Disc) ...

Mk 1, Mk 2, all are great cars, and all joking aside, I wouldn’t feel in anyway shortchanged if I found myself in a Mk 2 smile
