I'm bidding.....at that mileage I won't have any worries about using.

However with lockdown fever, I fear there may be more willing bidders...(but then again they don't know its three different cars super glued together and had an EV conversion) whistle

I'm going to bid if it remains under 6 figures. We could all be wasting our time if the reserve is £125 k though!

Market isn't what it was 2 years ago so can't expect a return on his £113k investment. My guess would be £105k.
Id be interested at just under £100k.
Be a great buy under 100k

I messaged him via ebay as I'm interested in it if priced correctly. He called me. He seems like a nice chap but his expectation is to recover the price he paid PLUS the serving work he has had done. He admitted to buying the car 3 years ago as an investment. I suggested 105 was where I saw the car, he said if he doesn't recover 120 plus for it he won't sell it. Will be interesting to see what it achieves, but at that price I'm definitely out.

IMHO still a great car for even the money he wants for it, but the market is the market.

As per the other thread, about 997 GT3's, even the low mileage stuff might start to suffer as the realities of EV and environmental legislation develop.

In 10 years time the conversations about scarcity might not be about how hard it is to find EV charge points, but rather super unleaded.

Or the widespread availability of a synthetic green fuel that replaces super unleaded?

This notion that we're all going to be EV bound by 2030 is, at best, flawed.

Broadly agree. I think what is certain is the uncertainty. Truly, no one knows.

Given the 'average' motorist clocks up just 10k miles, 190 odd per week, and that 35% drove no more than 5k, an EV would be a good option for many of them IMHO.

It's fanciful to say the least.

If EVs to be a viable proposition, it would be interesting to know what the installation/infrastructure cost for the UK's nationwide EV power supply scheme is estimated at ?

It probably wouldn't suit the agenda we're all being railroaded down to communicate the enormity of the gap between ideal and reality. And that's just to meet the objective of new car sales, not all cars on the road.

In my opinion the EV drive will not decrease the value of “special” petrol fuelled cars, only increase them! But nobody really knows

Sadly at £120k that’s today’s retail sales price considering the miles.

I would imagine there quite a few people who solely bought GT3 as investments and are now starting to realise they should of sold some time ago.

Either way it’s a beautiful looking car.

CC cars could be a sensible place to sell it on the open market. I’m not sure eBay does that car justice.

What a terrible advert and wasted purchase. I guess because the 6RS is a dream car I've taken this a touch to heart!

The platform, pictures, text and end time of 23:00!?! - really!?!

Barely any miles in the last five years, and not turned a wheel during the recent keepers ownership. *sigh*

As for the sellers 'reserve price', well, hopefully not a distress sale, but pretty much says it all really.

Good luck to interested parties, hopefully a deal can be struck and the RS used as intended.

Love the cars, just think the use of them has been ruined by speculators and now most owners are to concerned about losing money than experiencing the drive.

The Porsche gt car market sadly changed a number of years ago.

Sadly 996 gt3rs has always been the one that got away from
me and one I would love to own and enjoy. I missed my opportunity around late 2009 and not long after the speculators changed the market.

One day maybe.

Seller needs to take a longer view re 'investment' vehicle. Market has dropped since he purchased 3 years ago. If he kept it for another 10 years, he may be quids in.
Perhaps he's got the jitters due to the impending ban on petrol & diesel new cars in 10 years...
If it were mine, I'd say to hell with it & use it daily! Enjoy, life's short.

Try a "cooking" 996.2 GT3. Barely any difference in how they feel/drive compared with the 996 'RS, (unlike the 997 and 991 generations of GT3 vs GT3 RS by comparison).
