I'd be quite happy if was worth 80k as I've got a 29,800ish mile very clean 996 GT3 sat at home

Realistically i be surprised if it was worth more than 50k from a respected specialist or low 40's as a private sale

It does if some mug just handed over 80 grand for that car.

Surely not.
Someone sounds bitter after buying an inferior model... :-p

If indeed the advert was genuine.
It's the least genuine advert, ever. Crappy garage photo - been done before. 'Never been tracked' - photo on track. obvious wind up - or the phonesafe number terminates in Nigeria.

I wonder how many Gt3s will be in the carpark at the Nurbugring this summer, it would be such a shame if these cars weren't used anymore.

Pocty.

What's worth more to a collector, a 996.2 CS with full cage or the Comfort spec?

964 RS LWTs seem to be more highly valued than Tourings, despite the Touring being the much rarer spec. I would expect the GT3 to follow the same pattern.

^^^^ Yep this.

Racing is the ethos of the car even though yes it is a road car and there's still quite a jump to a fully stripped out un-carpeted race car.
Comfort owners will say it doesn't matter as you can fit all the CS parts, but -
A) the costs involved for genuine parts are high, hence you may as well buy a CS in the first place.
B) you can't fit the CS full cage or electric cut-offs without a lot of work, if at all.

You just have to look at all the comforts that have had buckets and Tequipment cages fitted to see what people want. smile

I think as Marky says the CS will always be more desirable. It's strange that the 6 Mk1 came with buckets regardless but later cars didn't - it seems that every new generation onwards has been watered down slightly, maybe to make more distinction for the clubbies and RS ?

Nice looking Club Sport for sale at JZM. I'll be keen to see how long it hangs around as it's identical to my CS apart from mine has lower miles and PCCB's.

That's a lovely car and price in the current market from a known dealer. If I was not already long on 996 I would snap it up smile
I expect it will not hang around much.

(No connection to this car)

The 996.2 GT3 (and subsequent GT3s, but not the 996.1 or 996RS) was sold in the US, however for some type approval reason they couldn't sell it with fixed buckets and came with standard sports seats. For some reason they also offered the sports seats to the rest of the world as well, and lots of customers specified them and have been ever since...

It is related to the story where the Americans also had to have sun roofs in all of their 997.1 GT3s as well (much the same reason)... They didn't get a bucket seat option until the folding bucket with the thorax airbags from the GT2 were offered in the 997.2.

I don't think that's a biggie. At least it has buckets.
The leathers are actually more comfortable than nomex...they seem to either be a little wider or better for 'slipping' in to.
One can always keep an eye out for nomex whilst using these...
