As the title, is it possible to retrofit the TPMS to a gen2 997 anyone done it? I don't want an aftermarket additional box.

The last time that somebody looked into it they were told no. The reason being that the wiring loom would need to be changed in a full on "take the car apart and put it back together" fashion and there consequently isn't a parts kit for it. The information came from Porsche though, so could be rubbish..... paperbag

Either way though, the costs involved are going to exceed that of simply trading the car for one with it fitted. The only catch is that it was very rarely optioned and only things like Gen 2 GT3s had it as standard, so finding a car with it probably wouldn't be trivial...

Thanks for the prompt response, had not seen it discussed here before.

You could buy an after-market TPMS. Well worth it and it's the one option I should have specced on my 991s but didn't.

I thought it was EU rules to have TPMS as standard now?

IIRC it came in a few weeks after my last 991

As far as the wiring loom is concerned, I believe Porsche uses a standard loom for all cars (of one model) and connect the optional extras as required. So it is just a matter of identifying the right wire....
