All of us missed the bargain of the century back in early August. A Swiss OPC sold an approved Mk1 CS, with a spare set of BBS E28s, on 50,000 miles with full Swiss Porsche Service History for wait, wait, wait, have a guess... I dilly-dallied for far too long with them over the price, banking on the fact they have had it for sale for 5mths, and then some lucky fecker snapped it under my nose on the day I reconciled with myself that I would pay them the full asking.

Ended up with a 27k miles Fully Mantheyed GT3.1 CS, so there was a silver cloud, but anyway, have a guess on what it went for...
As you are suggesting cheap then anything less than £70k for a mk1 clubbie with that mileage if it was tip top

Buy a 996 turbo, stick a GT2 kit on and spend the rest on a 9e power upgrade. Then wave goodbye to all GT2s (probably upside down in a hedge tongue out ) while you sit in comfort and make it to you destination without crashing into the scenery.
Unless of course you have some driving ability in which case a GT2 will leave a similarly powered Turbo for dead - fact.
Total exaggeration.
So you're saying a turbo is as quick or quicker than a GT2? I think not and have had both. I'd be interested to hear your view and how / why you have come to your opinion....? Maybe I've missed something.
Way way quicker Jon!! hope you're well you bugger! beer
All good matey you? Turbos looking nice, great motor that

It went for 42k GBP equivalent

Ok, I got to add VAT, but landed in the UK the car was £52k, with one year global OPC Warranty. At the end I bought into the GT3 is the purer drive... Doh!

Price is about right from the limited numbers of mk2 cars that have sold in the last 12 months (one!) for the mileage and rarity it could be under priced :-)

Could be a rare chance to buy as there can only be a handful of mk2 cars available worldwide as very low production numbers.

JZ mk1 went for 85k and had 18k on it.

LHD doesn't bother me or CGT drivers. 😃

Shame you missed missed out on the GT2. I suppose the GT3 isn't a bad 2nd best option.

Doubt the car would have had OPC warranty. After 10 years of age they usually come with some sort of aftermarket warranty - certainly if you buy from a UK based OPC.

Nope, Porsche in Europe is different from here - for starters, in Germany for example there are often 993s, 928s, 944s and 968s in the Porsche Approved Scheme, which means they come with the Global 1 year Porsche Warranty. It is the same in Switzerland. I did specifically ask - say something went wrong with the car in the UK - I could rock up in my local OPC in E London, get them to do the work. OPC claims from Porsche AG in Germany, then AG claims from the Swiss dealer, so it was all good on that front. Have had similar experience with BMW in the past - BMW UK was happy to accept a dealer servicing stamp from BMW Geneva, and was also happy to fix badly executed warranty work by BMW Sofia...

Well....if you look at the Porsche Germany website and search for used cars older than 10 years of age (I selected 1979 - 2004), you'll find there are no hits with a Porsche Approved Warranty. However, if you un-check the Porsche Approved box you'll find almost 40 hits. Even the 349,000 Euro RS listed isn't identified as Porsche Approved.

As I say, cars over 10 years old for sale at OPC would, in my experience, come with an aftermarket warranty.
