I have also found the invoice for when the engine and gearbox were recently converted to 3.8l and also the gearbox revision (you may be able to make something out of this; Getriebe is gearbox in german):
This video may give you an idea of the final drive as I take the car to the top of 3rd about 165kph:

Looking at that bill I find it amusing to nearly recognise the german numberplate. This video may give you an idea of the final drive as I take the car to the top of 3rd about 165kph:

If so, change of plan ? Going 964 air-cooled project instead ?
I've been considering enquiring about that car at JZM. I'm not sure it is Steve's. Earlier in the thread he said it came from Supercar Rooms which I guess was this one :http://www.jzmporsche.com/porsche-for-sale/911/997...

registered May 2007, 35,691 miles according to that advert but the one at JZM was registered in March 2007 and was (presumably) sold by them last August :

with 36,000 miles on the clock.
As far as I can tell the specs on these two cars are identical with very similar mileage and only two months apart in delivery date.
It looks like one of them also resold through Ashgoods early this year :

unless there's a third with the same spec.
Does anyone know if these are two identical cars or just one car that's been confused with incorrect registration date / mileage in the adverts?
Just seen this post. Apologies for the (very) late reply. Nope, not mine. Still have it. Planning on starting the project over the winter now that my 964 is finished. This is the project that I have been most looking forward to. pretty much clear on what's to be done - which will be the absolute minimum in terms of changing the original spec and everything must be purely bolt on.

As per the 964 really. Road and track. I always prefer a sharp set up on the road. It makes for an involving drive at all speeds. Set ups that are set to maximum road performance tend to be very uninvolving at lower/safe speeds.
Very interesting, I'm finding that my 997.1 GT3 is a little too focussed on track work and it makes for a difficult drive at normal road speeds. I'm planning on 'starting from scratch' with the geo and then going from there. Looking forward to hearing more updates

If you have a standard 'the customer is an idiot' set up, I can well believe that it's pretty awful everywhere. A decent set up will transform itLooking forward to hearing more updates
