The launch colour of the 996.1 ... I love it. That was the colour of my first ... had to buy another which I still own. Both CS.

I certainly use mine on track, im no schumacher but get so much enjoyment from it. At the ring or spa its really special.

Mines probably the ideal specimen for it though, well used car been through a few refreshes and a bit tired paint wise.

Where do we think prices are for these at present? RPM seem to be asking strong money.

I have an Emira coming next year so need something in the collection gone. I’ve used the 6.2 GT3 the least in the last year and it’s closest in my garage at least to what the Emira does.

Black 2005 Comfort with buckets and a few small other extras on 38k… I’m worried if I sell it everyone will wake up to how good they are and they’ll be 100k!
'We've' been waiting for the used cars to peak 100k for the past 5+ years (or whenever the boom started) for the market to wake up but its not happened.

I'm assuming it's due to them being too old, too 'hardcore' and looks not everyone gets. For them to break the 100k barrier it would need to be like the rs events, ie all of them sold then the sellers just named the price.

As for what yours is worth, see what the average price is for the mileage at a dealers, knock 10k off for private. +2/3k for club sport or -?k if it needs new tyres/suspension/work.

If its modified and not really returnable to oem, it appeals to a niche market within a niche market but there's a bum for every seat at a price

Alfapork, yours sounds very similar to mine except mine has just under 50k miles on it.
Mine too is a Comfort, with OEM leather buckets and Tequipment cage.
I may be putting mine up in February and I’ll probably pitch it at £65k with a view to getting low £60k’s. If I don’t get an offer starting with a six, I’ll just keep it. I may keep it anyway, I just have a lot of itches to scratch and know of a very good F430 Coupe that’s coming up in the spring.

I absolutely love the car mind but after 20 years of 911s including 2x 996 GT3s, I just want to sample some other stuff. I can always come back.

Mine hoovering up autumn leaves in Scotland on a trip with Brother Mouzone off here -

Its strange really. I bought mine at 2 yrs old. Price new started with a 7. Price I paid started with a 5. I’ve seen the prices all over the place. But the reality remains you will not make money trading 996 GT3’s. The depreciation however is low to non-existent so your only risk will be interest & maintenance.

Yep, I was fortunate that I got mine near the bottom of the depreciation curve but sold it for more but over the 10 years I owned it, probably broke even

I think the super low mileage one in the classifieds (if it's still there) is around £200k but that's a museum/collectors piece

Having said that, they'll probably rocket up just like my tesla shares did after I sold them

That sounds fair if it’s mint. thumbup

Mine needs some paint to bumper, bonnet and maybe side skirts, due to gravel rash.
I’ll do it if I’m going to sell it but if not I’ll leave it. I’m happy with it being useable and I’ll only fuss over it if I make it spotless.
I’ll make a decision in a month or two.

Two votes in here for the 996 GT3:

Rare for sure, but they’re a chunky premium over a “stock” Mk 2, and whilst a few appreciate the Motorsport aesthetics and “improved” driving dynamics, many don’t. Now too expensive to track, and the stock Mk 2 makes more sense as a road car for most.
For many a 997 GT3 at the same price point as a 996 RS makes more sense and some would say a better, though less tactile, road car.

Im only talking from a rarity point of view..collectors of rare cars seldom look at them let alone drive them!!

Which would tend to indicate that rarity alone isn't a guarantee of increased value. If it were, the ultra rare Mk2 996 GT2 would be trading at £250K +.
The C16 Mk1 996 GT3 & GT2 Clubsport are rarer animals than the 996 GT3 RS, yet values aren't anywhere close to those of the RS.

I hadn't previously looked, but the recent SCD video with contemporary 996 GT3 RS, BMW M3 CSL and Ferrari Challenge Stradale, prompted me to check and the 996 RS seem to trade roughly around the price of the Challenge Stradale which, although I'm not a Ferrari customer/fan, is a very fine car indeed.

Yes it is one. I follow him on Insta (although I’m rarely on there).

Got mine out and gave it a wash the other day. I have a couple of people interested in it at £60k. I’m not going to advertise it though. If they drop out I’ll keep it. I can’t really be bothered with a new car search but I’ve got some itches I want to scratch.

Using Bilt Hamber Touchless at the moment. Not good for foamy pics but it does seem to lift a lot of dirt.

Going for a service next week and it’s good to go.

There was a white/blue one at £49995 in about 2010 that hung around on the classifieds for ages.
That was the lowest point in the market. Mind you that car could have been a story car.
